Interlibrary Loan allows materials (typically books or journal articles) not owned at Nimitz Library to be requested from other libraries.  Articles are sent as PDFs and are yours to keep.  Books must be returned after a period of time (which will be on the paperwork with the item.) Check out this video for more information.

Current USNA midshipmen, faculty, and staff enter requests using the ILL homepage. First time users must create an account as pictured below; do not use your USNA log-in as it changes so frequently.

Delivery times can vary, from next-day response for some items in electronic format to waiting periods of 2-3 weeks or longer for books that must be mailed. On average, most materials take at least five (5) business days to arrive. For more information see ILL Policies.

Requests that do not conform to Nimitz Library policies and guidelines will not be processed. If you have any questions you may call the Research Help Desk (410-293-2420), contact Interlibrary Loan  (410-293-6945 or 410-293-6943) or send email to ill@usna.edu.
